Has anyone else had just the busiest summer? I have not traveled at all, yet I have not had a moment to spare for months! I finally had a moment to track these down and thought they would be fun to share!

We discovered this friend on our deck a few weeks ago. I took some pictures of him as he walked away, because he was just lovely! We don’t know where he came from, and we let him go wherever he was headed. There is a large river a mile or so away, many lakes in our neighborhood, and we have a small pond in our yard. I guess he was just passing through! I have heard turtles stay in the same general area their whole lives, so maybe we will see him again someday!

My (almost 2 year old) son was equally fascinated and terrified by our visitor. I love having the opportunity to teach him about the beauty of nature and animals. He typically loves animals, but I don’t think he has ever seen anything quite like a turtle before!
